Paris, September 14th – Mugler and its ambassadress, Willow Smith, are pleased to announce a $50,000 donation to Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA) to be used towards a special grant aimed to proliferate the institution’s overarching mission of building the next generation of the creative workforce.

Fueled by a deep belief that involvement with the arts and access to one’s creative side is central to everyone’s self-discovery and self-development journey, Smith hand selected BSA as the entity she would like Mugler to support as a key part of their collaboration. This grant will aim to create opportunities for the high school’s 400+ students by providing material and educational resources to advance their academic and creative learning. Offering programs in dance, film, music, stage design & production, acting and the visual arts, BSA is Willow’s mother, Jada Pinkett Smith’s, alma mater, and an institution she is personally connected to for its dedication to inclusivity and diversity. Like BSA, Willow Smith is fiercely committed to these causes and at just twenty-two years old, she leverages her powerful influence for the benefit of social integration of disadvantaged and minority populations through the arts, which she infuses with her deep beliefs in inclusion, altruism and freedom of self-expression.

“I believe deeply in the mission of BSA and am thrilled Mugler will contribute to their continued growth and positive impact, which will help talented and driven young people succeed, no matter their chosen path”, says Willow Smith.

Executive Director Rosiland Cauthen [BSA representative] says: “We are incredibly grateful to Mugler for this generous donation and to Willow Smith for choosing us, which will directly impact our students’ educations at BSA, as well as their future development opportunities. So much of what we do at BSA is about building curiosity, confidence and purpose, and this grant will serve to further our commitment to building the next generation of artistic talents.”
This choice is meaningful to Mugler – commitment to creative development, and to the positive integration of younger generations worldwide, remains central to the house’s continued growth and evolution. “We are deeply convinced in the positive correlation between artistic expression and personal development” says Sandrine Groslier, President of Mugler Fashion and Fragrances “and we are thrilled to support BSA’s mission to grow tomorrow’s creative forces.”

Mugler, a creative force.
Mugler defies the laws of time and space through sculptural and versatile works, a powerful act of creation with endless possibilities. A fusion of opposites, the Mugler world is an experimental laboratory. Inspired by imagination and curated by culture, Mugler cultivates an avant-garde approach, and the constant search for innovation combines old and new technologies, with the belief that traditional expertise can be transcended into contemporary creations. Alternative cultures, art and humor serve to clash with existing convention, to democratize fashion and fragrance and make them a platform of individuality and personal fulfillment. Today, under the ownership of the L’Oréal Group, Mugler is chaired by Sandrine Groslier and, since 2018, the brand’s Creative Director Casey Cadwallader.
